An acoustic study was performed to determine the effectiveness of the new sound absorbing panels under normal working environment conditions.
The test, carried out in accordance with standard ISO 354, allows a check to be made on how noticeably the Duo & Slim acoustic panel range helps reduce background noise levels and reverberation time in a space, making conversations more intelligible.
The normal sound level in an open-plan office is around 60-65 decibels – a level higher than that advised by the German engineering association, which puts the maximum level for doing intellectual work, resolving problems and effective communication at 50 decibels.
According to “The Sound Agency”, excessive noise is harmful to body and mind; noise makes us lose concentration easily and feel uncomfortable, causing an increase in blood pressure and the release of stress hormones.
Ultimately, not only do Duo & Slim fulfil the criteria for aesthetics and privacy, but they also contribute to making people more efficient and feel more comfortable at work.
