The ADI 2020 Awards gala was held this past 24 November, organized by the Industrial Design Association. At the ceremony, the Delta Awards were presented to Industrial Design professionals and companies who have distinguished themselves in this 40th edition.
The conditions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic defined the development of the event that in this edition was held in streaming and which can be viewed on the YouTube channel of ADI-FAD.
The awards have highlighted the work carried out by multidisciplinary design teams, interior design teams of the manufacturing companies, as well as the design of high-tech, ergonomic or customizable products, as highlighted by the President of the Association, Salvi Plaja, indicating that “design is critical for the success of companies, for the future of our economy and for the re-industrialization of the country. Design can save companies that are nearing their end or even rescue the economy of a country on the verge of the abyss."
All of the products selected in this edition form part of the ADI Book 2020, a new publication that substitutes the catalogue of earlier editions and which this year is edited by “Experimenta”. Likewise, the winners will become part of the collection of the “Barcelona Design Museum”, who together with the rest of the selected ones, among which is Nodum, will form part of a future exhibition. The jury, made up of Davide Groppi, Matali Crasset, Frank Zierenberg, Marta Alonso and Vicenç Aguilera, decided to award 8 Gold Deltas, 16 Silver Deltas and an Honourable Mention to the following selected projects:
