Here at JG Group we currently have a fleet of six lorries, with another one to be added in May. We also have another three lorries for the Catalonia region.
All of the lorries in the fleet are Volvos and comply with the Euro 4 standard, while the new one will also meet the Euro 5 standard.
In line with European standards on environmental emissions, all of the Volvo lorries in the JG Group fleet are equipped with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology. SCR technology uses an additive called AdBlue, which is injected into exhaust fumes before they go through an SCR catalyser. Nitrogen oxides are turned into harmless nitrogen gas and water vapour in this catalyser. Furthermore, around 95% of each Volvo lorry is recyclable and approximately one third of our lorries are already made of recycled materials (33% of weight).
All vehicles registered after 1/10/2006 must meet European standards for reducing exhaust emissions. Nitrogen oxide emissions (NOx) are reduced from 5 (according to the Euro 3 standard) to 3.5g/kWh, and particle emissions must be cut from 0.1 to 0.02g/kWh.
From 1/10/2009, the Euro 5 standard, which is even tougher on emissions, will come into force.
